What to look for in school cleaning products
Any product that claims to disinfect or sanitize must carry an EPA registration number. Look for it on the label, along with the contact time, which is how long the surface has to stay wet for the claim to hold.
The signal word tells you the hazard level. EPA uses three: DANGER, WARNING, and CAUTION, with CAUTION the lowest. LEXX® RTU Broad Spectrum Disinfectant & Cleaner carries CAUTION, and its label requires no PPE.
For cafeterias, check that the sanitizer is labeled for food contact surfaces and whether it needs a rinse. NSF Category D2 listing means no rinse is required.

LEXX® RTU Broad Spectrum Disinfectant & Cleaner carries a CAUTION signal word, the lowest of EPA’s three, and its EPA label requires no PPE. It has no harsh fumes. As with any cleaning product, keep it out of reach of children, follow the label and Safety Data Sheet, and follow your district safety policy.

Can the disinfectant be used on food prep surfaces?
No. LEXX® RTU Broad Spectrum Disinfectant & Cleaner is registered for non-food contact surfaces. For anything food touches, use LEXX® RTU Liquid Food Contact Surface Sanitizer & Cleaner, which is NSF listed Category A1, D2 and needs no rinse.
Do LEXX® products need to be diluted?
No. LEXX® RTU Broad Spectrum Disinfectant & Cleaner, LEXX® RTU Liquid Food Contact Surface Sanitizer & Cleaner, LEXX® General Multi-Purpose Cleaner Spray, and LEXX® Fruit & Vegetable Wash Spray all ship ready to use at label strength. There is no mixing, no dispensing system, and no concentration to test.
What surfaces should citric acid cleaners not be used on?
Because the formulas are citric acid based, keep them off marble, granite, and other natural stone, copper, brass, and unsealed wood. For the disinfectant, the label also says not to use it on electrical equipment or mix it with soaps, detergents, or other chemicals.
